We've been keeping relatively busy these days between dance, soccer and gymnastics. The season is back into full swing as of two weeks ago. Dance and gymnastics have continued throughout the winter but with soccer we had about a six week break. Now we have something going on every other day, so needless to say it's been pretty busy around here.
Alainna plays soccer like she never had a break at all! She was so aggressive the first game these kids showed nothing but heart! It was an unusual 75 degrees and our team is short so there weren't any subs these poor little kids had to play the entire game with only quarter and half time breaks and you know what, not one of them gave up or ever said "I'm tired". As I said, we never really had any time off from dance; nevertheless she has been working very hard and gearing up for the June recital. She's fitted for her costume (the theme is football) so she is a little cheerleader. Some of you know we're not allowed to sit in on practice so we only get small glimpses as she's beebopping through the house with her Ipod.
Isabel has really taken to her creative side. She enjoys cooking with me whenever I let her so I'm always sure to make her little jobs here and there that she can handle. I found these little baking sets for them complete with aprons, wooden spoons, rolling pins, wire whisks and real baking pans! They have made their own breakfast fritatas, cookies and now moved up to an awesome chocolate cake! Alainna reads the ingredients and directions while Isabel helps retrieving them from the fridge and breaking eggs. She also announced today that she wants to be an artist when she grows up. We're cautiously excited to see what this may bring.
MaryBeth, hmmm she is really turning into a young lady... still not ready for this! It seems like it was just yesterday she was playing dress up with her barbies (on occasion she still does:) and now she's trying out for talent shows and choir all while texting her dad with as much attitude as you can imagine through a text message. I know, ready or not here comes puberty... She is an awesome kid though, even with all of the hormones starting to rage.
Ric, has received his orders to CT for training then on to the boat and they even changed his dates which work out well for us in the sense that he'll definitely be here for Seven's arrival. Yay us! He is also Coach Ric again this season for Alainna's soccer team. Believe it or not, as mean as he can be these kids love him as their coach!
Me, I'm still chugging along over at PSD just counting down the days until the baby comes and we all move back out to the west coast.

I'm glad to hear some catch up news. Amazing how busy we all get and don't talk for awhile, I miss all the little daily events. I am sorry you are feeling exhausted and the heart burn, and I too am very anxious to meet Siete but hopefully the time will fly. My plan is still to come in June, was the date of the recital June 5th? Unless you want or need me sometime sooner. My drivers are bugging me to pick a date for my retirement party and I told them I needed to confirm my trip there first. So, unless I hear differently from you, I will plan to come in June. The part about coach Ric cracks me up. Cameron had to do a poem which will be published in a book. He chose to do an autobiography poem where he just had to fill in the blanks about himself in poetic style. One of the blans was (Cameron) fears blank, blank and blank. He put the unknown, death, and Uncle Ric. Maybe when he reads that as an adult he will laugh it off just like our kids do now when they talk about mean Uncle Chuck. So are Ric's orders what he expected? Is he still going to the USS Maine? When will he be in Conneticut?
