Busy Month and it's not over yet...

Well lets start off with we've been very busy this month starting with Labor Day weekend we went to mom's in Ohio. That was a good treat for both mom and the girls. MaryBeth hadn't been up there since we first moved out to Va (2 years ago) and it was a long weekend so we decided, "What the heck; Let's go!".Just before we left for the weekend Ric and I got MaryBeth a new phone so we don't have to bother with the whole buying minutes thing. It was great in theory pay as you go; but in actuality once she ran out of minutes it didn't matter if you were "in" or not the phone didn't take or make calls and those things are a dollar a unit. So we upgraded her to our family share where she has text because the pay as you go takes up around 10 units per text! Yes; what a rip off! Most of you received a text from me that morning as we headed out about her new number and to play along as we had hidden it in the back of the truck and I were calling and texting her until she found it. Let me tell you that had me squirming until she finally found it! We were up the night before downloading all of the Jona's Brothers and Hannah Montana songs we could find so they were playing the whole way I think we stopped somewhere in Md before she heard it playing. She was very excited and thankful for it. The phone was all she needed for a long road trip she played while learning everything she could about it.

We had our nice little storm what we've been calling a non-event the following weekend. Not much happened some wind, rain and falling branches we get much worse with our rolling thunder storms. My apt on the other hand had more going on than tropical Storm Hanna that passed through. The ceiling in the bathroom caved in causing the whole place to flood. Not that much of my belongings were damaged to the point that I would file a claim but to answer the question on every ones mind YES! I have renters insurance.

I'm finally getting out of my lease and moving the rest of my stuff over to Ric's, now our condo. With that we've found the more we bring over the more has to go into storage or sold as we have way too much stuff! Not long ago Ric posted for the family to put in dibs for all of the girls clothes we have in excess and to reiterate that is girls clothing 12 mos to 3T. I never let go of the infant clothes because every time I give away clothes we end up needing them again...

Ric and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on the 6th (during the non-storm) Cami (Ric's sister) came over and sat the kids while Ric took me to this very nice and interesting Brazilian restaurant. Where we were both very impressed and completely stuffed! We made one little stop along the way but went home at a decent hour as the girls don't care how late we stay up they're still getting up with the sun and we're expected to do the same! We plan to do something else for our anniversary but its hard to get away also to get someone to take the kids for a couple of days at a time (hint hint) if anyone wants to come take the kids for us... We wanted to go snowboarding but now we're rethinking that idea.

Work is the same as usual for the shipyards... I hate it and can't wait to get back to the west coast for one and shore duty second! All of the pins are falling into place for us to head back to Silverdale, Wa. We both loved it there and regret leaving but the past two years being so close to MaryBeth has been good for all of us. Ric is doing well at his staff job, he was a sponsor to one of my Truman shipmates who transferred to his command as she was transitioning to chief. That was a long 6 weeks! He was also voted into the CPOA for his command that is the Chief Petty Officer Association President which is a great leadership position for him to have.

Here it is the third week of school and we're tangled up in dance, soccer and gymnastics. We make all of the runs for Isabel and Alainna they are in dance. Isabel in ballet and tap, Alainna is in hip-hop/soccer and Beth is handling MaryBeth in gymnastics this season. These activities are keeping us busier than the kids. They love it and are all doing well so we'll keep it up as long as we can.

This week I lost a friend from the ship to a very tragic accident. Dreyton was an upbeat kind of person full of life and my age. It was very hard to take the news of such an untimely death but even harder to see he's mothers tears as she bid him farewell far too early. I firmly believe a mother should never have to suffer that kind of pain to see her child pass on in her lifetime. It saddens me to see this kind of pain. I hope that people learn from his mistake and really think about their actions and how they'll effect their loved ones too.

Now we're nearing the end of this week and still we have so much to get done. Unpack all of this stuff sort what we're keeping, whats going to storage and whats just got to go! We finally went through our closet and are getting rid of a lot of our clothes that we haven't worn in ages. Maybe lightening the load for the move back out west. We'll be heading out there in about 9mos or so counting down each day.

Well its about time to sign off and get dinner ready its pan seared tilapia and fried rice hopefully I get it done in time for Ric and the girls to get home from soccer and head right for the table because it'll be after 7pm already.

Thanks for stopping by...
